My animation discusses how digital natives are changing the world at a fast rate due to the advancements in digital technology. Marc Prensky coined the term "digital natives" in order to differentiate different generations. My generation, the natives, were raised with computer technologies. In other words, children raised in a digital, media-saturated world, require a media-rich learning environment to hold their attention, and Prensky named these children "digital natives". Digital technology has grown exponentially starting in the last decade of the 20th century. Due to the rapid growth, students have changed the way they think and process information, making learning more difficult for them to excel academically. By understanding young people’s interactions with digital media such as Internet, cell phones, and social media we may address the issues their practices raise and shape our educational framework in a way that raises public interest. Through research, the culture of digital natives is a culture of connectivity, public display, and of constant availability. Digital tools not only provides a unique learning opportunities for digital natives, but they will also possess skills that will help them out in the future when technology grows even more.
