Reflection
When I was first introduced to this assignment and after watching the examples, I thought that this project was going to be very difficult and time-consuming. I did not think I would be able to create a stop animation because I have never done anything that meticulous before. To my surprise, my group and I were able to work together and figure out how to take the pictures on the iPad and upload them to iMovie. After uploading the pictures to iMovie, we added music and narration! In the end, we successfully created a stop animation about electric charges. I hope that that the fourth graders in California will find our stop animation useful! In my opinion, watching videos created by other students is a fun and amusing way to learn. When I learn in a fun and enriching way, I understand and remember the material more rather than taking notes while listening to a lecture. The most important aspect of this project was blending over 100 pictures together to create an educational movie that will be beneficial to other students. Hopefully, this stop animation will be used as an example in the future so other students can create educational movies. I have never been that technological savvy, and from this project I now know how to turn lots of pictures into a movie with voice-overs, music, and other effects!
It took a day or two before my group got into the swing of things, and after figuring out a good routine, we were able to complete this project successfully. For example, I would create the signs and pictures, Tate would place them on the paper, and Meredith would take the pictures on the iPad. Having each person have a role made making the stop animation very efficient. However, we did run into some difficulties, and it is important to stay calm because even though there were a few bumps in the road, we were able to overcome these obstacles. Sen was vey helpful when we ran into these obstacles, and she taught us how to export our video on youtube and how to transport our pictures to iMovie. I could not have completed this project without the help of Meredith and Tate. Together, we made a fantastic team. Now, I am able to successfully create a stop animation movie!
